Lindsey and Aaron
Hi there, we are Lindsey and Aaron. Thank you for taking a moment to get to know us.
We met in 2022 while both living in rural Hawaii, both recently divorced, and better for the journey. We both felt clear on what we wanted in life and we found exactly what we were looking for in each other. We now live in Washington and are each other’s best friends and adventure buddies.
Nature is kind of our whole thing. At work we take care of it, and at home we play in it. We get food from it, find comfort in it, decorate our house with it, and center most of our traditions around it. We value personal growth and having healthy relationships with ourselves and others. We like having experiences more than buying things. We value community and family as the foundation of a good life. We believe in doing what is right over what is easy, and being a force for good in the world. We don’t always live up to these ideals, but we try our best.
Aaron is a middle school teacher who loves sharing magical and ridiculous experiences with his students. He loves nerdy stuff, outdoor adventures, and building furniture out of garbage. His love language is making beautiful meals for his family and friends. He loves fixing cars and doing home repairs for his friends and neighbors, but hates fixing his own car and house.
Lindsey loves working for the Forest Service, volunteering in her community and baking bread. She is happiest when playing outdoors, defying gravity at the aerial gym, and picking berries in her garden. She thrives on new experiences and finds people endlessly interesting. She strives to stay grounded without taking herself too seriously.
We want to share the magic of the world with a child and pass on what we have learned along the way. We are ready to make our lives about something bigger than ourselves. We also know that a child will teach us things we could never learn any other way, and we are open to wherever that new adventure takes us. And honestly, we just really want a sweet, silly little family. It sounds like so much fun.
We both felt called to adoption from the start, but were at first intimidated by the process. We decided to have a biological child first and try to adopt a second. The bio route didn’t work out, so here we are, right back where we started.
What our open adoption looks like will depend on the personalities, needs, and situations of us, the birth family, and the child. No matter what, we will embrace our child’s birth family as part of our extended family and an equally important part of our child’s life. We’ll be there, we’ll be flexible, and we’ll always keep our hearts open.
We honor your journey, wherever it leads, and wish you and your child nothing but love. Thanks for reading about us!
