Anna and Ben
Hi! We’re Anna & Ben. Our life is centered around creating a home filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections. We live in a welcoming neighborhood with family close by, which has been such a gift, especially as we’ve recently become proud aunt and uncle to two wonderful nephews. Watching them grow has deepened our excitement about expanding our own family.
Anna works as a credit analyst in the rail industry, a role that combines her problem-solving skills with her lifelong fascination for trains. Ben is a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, drawing on years of experience in emergency care to support people through life’s challenges. Both of us find purpose in what we do and value the opportunity to make a positive impact every day.
Outside of work, we love simple joys: walking our rescue pup, Oshie, exploring local trails, biking to our favorite bakery, and winding down with a good movie. Creativity is important to us too and you’ll often find us sketching or painting together. We also share a passion for cooking and travel, and we’re always planning our next adventure or trying a new recipe
Our relationship is built on humor, mutual respect, and a shared love of the outdoors. We met through family in 2004, and since then, we’ve grown together through new experiences, challenges, and adventures. Today, we’re focused on building a family where a child feels safe, supported, and deeply loved—not just by us, but by an extended network of caring relatives who are eager to welcome them.
Although we have always loved children, the timing never felt quite right, and we also faced our own challenges with fertility along the way. Spending more time with our nephews brought us so much joy and naturally led to deeper conversations about becoming parents ourselves. Adoption has always held a special place in our hearts, especially given Ben’s own experience as an adoptee. When we finally found an agency that aligned with our values, we knew we were ready to move forward. As we imagine our future child, we feel deeply committed to passing on the values we were raised with: kindness, compassion, a love and respect for the environment, and an appreciation for education and self-expression.
When we think about approaching adoption through an open lens, certain values feel especially important: honesty, respect, and connection. We believe a child deserves to know where they come from and to feel pride and clarity about their identity. Openness is important to us because it creates a fuller sense of family, one where love isn’t limited or divided but expanded. We want our child to grow up knowing they were surrounded by care from the very beginning, not only from us but also from the people who brought them into the world. We hope our lives will intersect with our child’s birth family in ways that feel natural, comfortable, and meaningful for everyone involved. That might mean staying in touch through updates, visits, or traditions we build together over time. We imagine a relationship grounded in mutual respect, one where our child sees all the threads of their story woven together with openness and love.
