Kurt and Kohl

Hello, we’re Kurt and Kohl. We’re both from the Pacific Northwest, with Kurt growing up in Beaverton, OR and Kohl growing up in Bellingham, WA. We’ve been together since 2019 and married since 2022, currently living in beautiful Portland, OR.

We met through the dating app Hinge, forming an instant connection. It wasn’t long before we moved in together and started combining our lives. We currently have 2 cats (Tatum and Moo) who are very affectionate, and 2 dogs (Millie and Chief) who enjoy going to the nearby dog park.

Kohl is a reserved, lighthearted, crafty, and caring man. His mother is a baker and passed on her love of baking to him, he enjoys baking breads and sweet treats like cookies and cinnamon rolls. Kohl is also rather tech-savvey, having worked in the IT industry for 10 years at various construction companies. Our home is filled with smart-speakers and automated lights. Kohl’s current home project is renovating our home office.

Kurt is an incredibly loving and goofy guy, with a large extended family across the Portland area and beyond. He enjoys interesting architecture, building Legos, and tasty coffee. Kurt has worked for a local construction company specializing in doors for over 6 years, and has become something of a self-proclaimed door nerd. He enjoys cheering Kohl on during his home projects, and occasionally providing assistance.

We’re excited to grow our family through open adoption and experience the joys of parenthood. To us, an important aspect of parenthood is to highlight and support whoever our children want to become and nurture them as they grow. We hope our open adoption experience will develop an organic relationship to the degree everyone involved wants, with the adoptee at the center.

Together we believe we would make great parents by providing a loving environment, an open and caring place for anyone to grow. We look forward to supporting and nurturing our child’s interests and can’t wait to be their biggest cheerleader in any activities they pursue, whether it’s on the sports field, in a library, or anywhere else.
