OA&FS staff & board

Our team is small but mighty, and we all share one important quality: We care deeply about the needs of the clients we serve. We meet people where they are and support them in determining the path forward. Our counselors have training and experience in social services and compassionately navigate a range of situations with expectant parents, prospective adoptive parents, and members of the adoption constellation. Our support staff keep everything running smoothly thanks to expertise in program management, client support, and communications. Our Board of Directors is led by a birth parent and comprises adoptees, adoptive parents, and birth parents. This means our services are shaped and endorsed by people with lived adoption experience.

OA&FS staff

Adam Thomas, Operations Manager

Adam Thomas, Operations Manager

Adam first joined the Eugene OA&FS team in 2016. He grew up in Oklahoma, but his love of the outdoors brought him to the great state of Oregon in 2014. He has a passion for helping others, and finds he does his best work through providing assistance to those in need. He enjoys volunteering his time at the sake of making someone’s day better, and loves to share his knowledge and expertise when he sees an opportunity to jump in and help. He is passionate about open adoption, and the work OA&FS does, not only with counseling and open adoption but within the pro-choice community as a whole.

Delphine Veith, LICSW, Program Manager

Delphine Veith, LICSW, Program Manager

Delphine joined OA&FS as a counselor in 2015, and became Program Manager in 2021. She supports all counseling staff and works with partners in the hospital and social work landscapes to educate and advocate for unbiased all-options pregnancy counseling and ethical, adoptee-centered practices. Delphine has an MSW from University of Washington. Prior to OA&FS, she held a variety of positions supporting youth and families, including 6 years with Planned Parenthood. Delphine is passionate about reproductive justice, amplifying adoptee voices, and supporting all clients in making informed, empowered decisions about if, when and how they become parents.

Katie is honored to be a part of the OA&FS team and is committed to working toward reproductive justice, equitable access to health care, and ethical and child-centered adoptions. Leah Lusk, MA, LMHC, Content Specialist

Leah joined OA&FS in 2021 as a counselor, and worked in that capacity for three years before transitioning to focusing on the agency’s content-related needs. Counseling was her second career after many years as an editor, and the common thread for her has always been helping people write their own stories. She is now responsible for writing and editing the majority of the agency’s communications. She was drawn to OA&FS because of the organization’s commitment to transparency, openness, and continual teaching and learning.
